How to make Punjabi Kadhi with Rice Balls Recipe?
Step 1
Combine 1 cup besan, salt, half teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon red chili powder and yogurt in a bowl. Whisk well, add 1 cup water and whisk again.
Step 2
Heat some oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds, dried red chilies, half teaspoon chopped ginger and fenugreek seeds. Cook for a minute.
Step 3
Add the gram flour mixture to the pan. Mix and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 4
Heat some oil in a kadai.
Step 5
Combine the fenugreek leaves, spinach leaves, onion, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, carom seeds, ginger, soda bicarbonate and besan in a bowl. Mix well.
Step 6
Divide into small bite-sized portions, shape into balls and deep-fry in hot oil till golden.
Step 7
Take the cooked rice in a bowl. Apply water on your palms and divide the mashed rice into 8 compact portions. Place in the Microwave oven on HIGH for 2 minutes.
Step 8
Add the fried pakore to the cooked besan mixture reserving 4 pieces for garnishing. Cook the mixture for a minute.
Step 9
Place 2 rice portions in each cup and pour a portion of the kadhi onto them. Place the reserved pakore on the plate and garnish with a little fried spinach. Serve hot.
